Today, about 1 billion people worldwide lack access to adequate amounts of food. However, because our world's population is rapidly growing, that number could increase dramatically. By 2050, our population is expected to grow to over 9 billion people. In order to feed everyone in the future, we will have to put more land into agricultural production, improve crop yields, reduce consumption of meat, harvest more from the world's fisheries, or use some combination of these strategies. Though, is it possible to produce enough food to feed the world’s population without destroying the land, polluting the environment, or reducing biodiversity?
